Do you have Bluehost hosting and are wondering how to install WordPress with Bluehost?
If you’re looking to start building your first website with WordPress, you’ll need to sign up to a decent web host in order to store your website files and get your website online.
BlueHost is one of the recommended WordPress web hosts. Their WordPress hosting plans start from as little as $3.95 and include a free domain, free SSL certificate, and 1-click WordPress install.
That means it’s super easy to install WordPress with BlueHost, and we’re here to show you exactly how that works!

1. Install WordPress with Bluehost: Pricing Plan
Before you sign up to BlueHost, you’ll need to choose which one of their hosting plans suits your needs. BlueHost offers four shared hosting plans starting from $3.95 per month.

Renewal Rate | $8.99/mo | $11.99/mo | $16.99/mo | $26.99/mo |
My recommendation would be to choose the Basic plan if this is your first WordPress website. You probably won’t need the extra features the other plans offer at this stage and it’s a great choice for cheap hosting.
The beauty of BlueHost’s plans is that they’re scalable, so if you need more resources, you can simply upgrade to their next plan with the click of a button.
If you’re growing your existing website or plan to host multiple websites, the Choice Plus plan is only $1 per month more expensive than the Plus plan, and offers lots more features.
2. Choose A Domain
Once you’ve selected your plan, you’ll get the choice to register a free domain name. Remember, all of BlueHost’s plans include a free domain name for the first year.
If you already have a domain name, you can enter your existing domain name into the fields on the domain set up page, or choose to create your domain name later. You’re now one step closer to installing WordPress with Bluehost!

3. Confirm Your Plan
After you’ve sorted your domain name, you’ll be asked to enter some basic account information like your name, address, email, and phone number. It won’t take too much longer before you can install WordPress with Bluehost.
You’ll then need to confirm your package information. By default, the account plan chosen is for a 36-month term. BlueHost’s advertised prices are based on 36-month terms which is the cheapest option to choose.

However, if you want to sign up for a different length of time, you can select 12-month or 24-month terms. This does increase the price to the following on the Basic plan, as an example:
- Basic 12 Month Price – $5.95/mo
- Basic 24 Month Price – $4.95/mo
4. Package Extras
BlueHost are well known for pre-ticking boxes on their package extras. In most cases, these extras won’t be wanted or needed, so it’s a bit cheeky that they do it really.

In any case, you can untick any of the boxes you don’t want to include. I would recommend including Domain Privacy + Protection if you don’t want your details to be available to the public when searching for a specific domain.
The other extras can easily be obtained by using a WordPress plugin, e.g. for security. It’s entirely up to you if you want any of these extras, but you should check your final total before proceeding.
5. Login To BlueHost
Once you’ve paid for your BlueHost hosting package, you’ll need to login to your BlueHost dashboard in order to install WordPress with Bluehost. Here you’ll see a list of options on the lefthand side.
Navigate to My Sites and select the website you want to install WordPress onto. If you have chosen any of the pricing plans above the Basic plan, you’ll be able to install unlimited websites onto your hosting package.
You’ll be able to install WordPress directly to the website which will provide you with your WP Admin and Password details to login to your WordPress dashboard.
6. Login To WordPress
If you want to manage your plugins, WordPress installation, or themes, you can do this all from your My Sites dashboard via BlueHost.

You can log in directly to your WordPress website via your BlueHost dashboard. Here you can start creating your first posts, pages, and install the plugins you want on your site.
It really is as simple as that when you install WordPress with BlueHost.
